Ella's 5th

Stealing the theme from Miss Abby we gave Ella a fairy party at PAC. The girls were all so cute and Ella loved every minute of it....from the sugar cube stacks, to musical chairs to the make your own ice cream Sundae's. I can hardly believe that my baby is 5 already. So cliche, but you blink your eyes and the baby/toddler years are gone. I'm learning to embrace her fascination with Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers and the Camp Rock set.

Pre-buying for the 2008 Halloween at the Pottery Barn Kids 2007 post Halloween sales was the smart thing to do....I thought. Ella decided that this was the year that she was going to call the shots on the outfit. So, out with the cute devil costume, and after much debate we....um, Ella decided on Cowgirl. We had her hat, bought the boots, Papa made her belt and badge and mommy made her treat bag and vest. She was cute as can be and had so much fun trick-or-treating with her playgroup friends!!

Chihuly at the DeYoung

Several weeks back Brian, Ella and I caught the Dale Chihuly exhibit on it's very last day at the DeYoung. I had wanted to go since I heard it was coming many months ago, meant to go when it first opened, and finally got to it on it's very last day. I'm so glad we finally made the effort, but would have gone a dozen times more had it been around longer. All three of us were blown away. The photos can't even begin to do it justice. The installations and pieces were amazing. Such bright vivid colors, one room after another, each piece different, all were breathtaking. I'm so thankful to have been able to see it, and all the better to do so with Brian and Ella.

I've been telling Jenny that I'd get into this blogging thing for way too long now. I think I set up my profile at the beginning of summer, and now were almost into October...time to get to work here!!
Brian, Ella and I went to the beach this weekend. Ella had a great time and learned not to turn your back on the ocean....the wet and sandy way!!

Missing Abby

Abby has been gone for just a few days now and it already is too long in Ella's book. We've sent one letter to Utah, and have other fun stuff in the works, but I know it's going to be a long 6 weeks without Ella's buddy!!
